GRANT PROCESS

Here's your opportunity to make your creative teaching ideas a reality!

The Oregon Schools Foundation will be taking grant applications for the 2009-10 school year.  Oregon Schools Foundation is a non profit organization that works in cooperation with the Oregon Board of Education to help teachers help students reach their fullest potential.  A mini-grant program grants small cash awards ($500-$1500) designed to encourage creativity in the classroom, develop more effective methods of instruction and reward imaginative teaching in everyday lessons.

Who can apply: Teachers or Administrators in Oregon Schools system

Grant period: This spring we will be accepting applications for grants  for 2010- 2011 school year.   The deadline is April 20th 2010

Amount of grants: For individual applicants the grant can be up to $500.  For team applicants the grant may be awarded up to $1500.

Grant details:  Grants are intended to help develop more effective methods of instruction.   As such the grant committee will award grants using the following guidelines
  • Money is intended for instructional resources and materials (refreshments and prizes are not eligible)
  • Grants may be repeated however the priority is to provide "seed money" for new ideas.
  • Materials that can have ongoing use are preferred to disposable/one use items.
Awardees Follow-Up Responsibility:  It is the expectation of the grant committee that awardees will complete an evaluation form at the end of the grant period.  Also, the grantees may be requested to communicate the grant outcomes to other teachers in their school and in their grade across the district.
