Financial cut-backs are made in the district to meet state required minimums. Art is not an offering mandated by state funding. One of the most requested programs by families is Art in the Elementary schools
With significantly less money available from state sources, local school boards are continually forced to cut or reduce programs considered “non-essential” by the state government, but highly valued by students and parents, such as music, art, library support and athletics.
Through Oregon Schools Foundation we have found a way to bring back extra Art offerings to the elementary levels through Elementary after-school Art Clubs.
